a play about the complex relationship between three generations of intellectual but emotionally disconnected women: the eccentric grandmother, Dorothea; her scientist daughter, Artie; and Artie's brilliant, spelling-bee champion daughter, Echo. After Dorothea suffers a stroke, Echo attempts to reconcile her mother and grandmother, exploring themes of family, abandonment, and the ability to connect with each other with "charity"
